Hey everyone,
Over the past two decades in IT and development, my journey has taken me from the early days of Novell Netware and Lotus Notes/Domino right up to the cutting edge of cloud architecture, DevOps, and Cloud Security.
Today, as we stand on the cusp of a new era dominated by Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI, a sense of unease grips me. Yet, amidst the applause for these technological marvels, one critical question echoes in my mind:
What about their security?
Everywhere I look — newsletters, blog posts, videos — I see a whirlwind of excitement about the latest developments in LLMs and AI Models. However, amidst this buzz, I can’t help but notice a significant piece of the puzzle is missing.
I’m aware that security might not have the same allure as building and deploying models and applications. Yet, in my opinion, it’s the very foundation that can make or break not just technologies but entire companies, and at a larger scale, societies.
So, driven by this, I’ve embarked on a quest to delve into the security of LLM and AI, eager to share my findings and grow alongside those of you interested in this crucial aspect.
Here’s my deal:
I’m not claiming to be an AI security guru, BUT I’m deeply concerned that our collective oversight might lead to unforeseen consequences down the line.
For the next 60 days, I’ll be immersing myself in the world of LLM and AI security, and I invite you to join me in this exploration, challenging both ourselves and the status quo of AI security.
So What to Expect:
Expect a mix of daily insights, ranging from technical deep-dives to broader reflections on how security fits into the grand scheme of this new technological era.
I’ll be learning out loud — sharing what I discover, the resources that guide me, posing questions (perhaps naive ones at first), and spotlighting the issues that truly concern me.
This journey isn’t about spreading fear; it’s about paving the way towards solutions through honest risk assessment.
Who This is For:
AI/Tech/CyberSecurity Pros: Let’s pool our knowledge and strategize on defense mechanisms.
Prompt Engineers: For those of you who excel in crafting prompts, integrating LLM security could be a valuable addition to your skill set.
Curious Minds: If the thought of LLMs leaves you restless, join me in uncovering the reasons and finding peace of mind.
Anyone Who Understands the Stakes: LLMs are here to stay; let’s commit to making them safer for everyone.
