The Ongoing Journey of My Multi-Niche Experiment: Why It Still Makes Sense
Balancing creativity, technology, and personal growth while embracing the unknown.
Hey, Alchemists
Here’s where I’m at right now—still knee-deep in this multi-niche experiment, still writing, and still testing the waters. I’ve been running a 15-day writing challenge, and while a couple of people joined me, the audience isn’t huge.
But that’s okay.
Why? Because showing up consistently is what matters. Whether you’ve got one reader or a hundred, you’ve got to keep writing and testing.
You’ve probably heard all those “gurus” tell you to find a niche, right? But here’s the truth: how do you even know if the niche you pick is the right one?
You don’t !!! Not until you’ve tried it out for a while.
That’s what this experiment is all about. I’m figuring it out as I go. You see, people want more than a niche these day they want to know you. They want to see the person behind the words.
If I only wrote about AI because it’s trending, what happens when the next hot thing comes along? Exactly. People might move on. That’s why I’m showing up as me—because that’s the one constant.
Consistency Over Niche
Right now, I’m still working on challenges, still writing almost every day (though not always). I’ve heard writers say you should write daily, but I’m not sure that’s the best advice for everyone. If writing isn’t your business, it might not make sense to do it every day.
I post regularly—short articles, atomic essays—but I’m not spamming people’s inboxes with daily emails. Instead, I send a newsletter once or twice a week, though I’m considering cutting that down to just once. People need time to digest the content. And that’s fine by me—I’m here for the long haul.
Tech, Personal Growth, and Balance
So here’s where my brain’s been lately working in AI and Cloud Security. That’s where a lot of my focus is right now, but I didn’t want ‘Digital Alchemy’ to just be about that. It’s got to have personal stories, growth, and spirituality woven in, too. Because balance matters.
I want to share what resonates most with readers, whether that’s tech solutions or personal growth stories. It’s about finding the sweet spot where I can help people, but also share who I am. And here’s the thing: I’m learning as I go. You gather data, you shift, and you adjust—but you keep going.
The Surprise Twist
Interestingly, I’ve noticed that some of my non-paid subscribers have been super active lately. It’s given me some good insights! I’m always working on ways to provide even more value to my paid subscribers—like offering more labs, AI prompts, and actions. I’m also exploring the idea of adding video content since some people really connect with that format.
It’s all about evolving and improving, so I’m excited to experiment with different approaches. While video is something I’m considering, I want to make sure it’s the right fit and not rush into it.
Niches: Been There, Done That
And about those niches? Yeah, I’ve tried that before, and it works to a point. But if you’re niching down, you need to be selling something. Otherwise, people tune out. That’s why I’m sticking with this multi-niche approach—it keeps things fresh, interesting, and authentic.
So, that’s where I’m at right now. Letting things evolve, learning, and figuring it all out along the way.
If you’ve been part of this journey, thank you. I’d love to hear from you—what resonates most with you?
Do you think niching down is the only way, or is there space for a multi-niche approach?
Until next time,
